Finding the right wedding photographer will be just one of the many tasks you must undertake as you prepare for your wedding. I have been photographing weddings for 9 years now, and I believe I have found the right blend of knowledge to assist you in any decisions that need to be made, and flexibility to provide you with the kind of customized service you deserve on your wedding day.
This is a new addition to my website. I have not concerned myself with writing something like this before because, after all, if someone likes my pictures then they will hire me and I won't worry about everyone else. Recently though, I have had encounters with couples who have had very bad experiences and that has prompted me to write this as a VERY basic set of screening procedures when choosing a wedding photographer. I should add that EVERYONE who is willing to take your money to shoot your wedding should already be expecting questions like these.
Photojournalistic wedding photography is all about capturing THE moment with minimal interferance. The goal is simple - and yet elusive - to capture all of your most precious moments without anybody even realizing you were there.
The photojournalistic approach to wedding photography allows the day to unfold in a natural way, producing minimal interference. Ideally, you and your guests will scarcely know I was there. Through the ceremony there may be a need to move in and take some flash pictures, but most of the photography will be taken from a discreet distance. When circumstances permit, I will discuss with the person presiding over the wedding (beforehand) how to situate the event to ensure that natural lighting can be used optimally.
After the ceremony I will help to take charge to ensure that family portraits happen in an efficient manner before the bride and groom head off for a private portrait session.
